In a Hybrid forming section, the gap between the two forming wires is gradually reduced to nil and the wet sheet between the wires is thus squeezed so the free water in wet sheet is taken away from the top and bottom wires. The narrower the gap is, the more squeeze it will create.Additionally the forming roll and the curved dewatering parts have the vaccum dewatering function like a table roll when the top wire is separated from the forming roll and the curved dewatering parts and centrifugal force is created and significantly help to increase the dewatering rate of the top wire. Experiments and production experience show that a top former may take away 30-40% water removed from the wire section, may reduce the vacuum suction boxes to be used, may effectively increase the machine speed and reduce the wear and tear on the wire to extend the wire service life.
